This Is Not a Government or Law Enforcement Office. We run a private reference site. We cannot confirm whether a warrant exists, recall or clear a warrant, post bond, arrange a surrender, or give legal advice for anyone. For any of those, you need to reach the sheriff's office or the issuing court directly.
Need Official Warrant Information?
Here is where the questions people ask most often should go in Clinton County:
- Whether a warrant exists: the Clinton County Sheriff's Office maintains the local warrant file and can confirm an outstanding warrant from a name and date of birth
- A bench warrant for a missed court date: the 65A District Court, which set the case and holds the order, is the office to call
- Resolving or clearing a warrant: a licensed Michigan attorney and the issuing court handle recalls, surrenders, and bond
- An arrest warrant tied to a charge: the charging court sets the charge and the bond, and the sheriff's office serves the warrant
- A felony case after bindover: the 29th Judicial Circuit Court at the county courthouse takes over the file
For warrants held at the county level, the primary counter is the Clinton County Sheriff's Office at 1347 E. Townsend Road, St. Johns, MI 48879. The main line is 989-224-5200, and public records requests can go to the sheriff's FOIA coordinator at sherifffoia@clinton-county.org. The jail is reached separately at 989-227-6580.
Court questions go to the courthouse at 100 E. State Street, St. Johns, MI 48879. The 65A District Court sits in Suite 3400 and answers the general line at 989-224-5150, criminal matters at 989-224-5153, and traffic matters at 989-224-5151. Its counter is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., and the phones stay staffed until 5:00 p.m.
The Clinton County Clerk, who also serves as clerk of the circuit court, is in Suite 2600 of the same building and can be reached at 989-224-5140. The clerk's office keeps circuit court filings and is the right place for questions about how a case was recorded rather than how a warrant was served.
